Thank you very much for your prayers for us over the summer. We give thanks for our trip to Soul Survivor when over 50 young people and their leaders worshipped, prayed, learnt about following Jesus and enjoyed spending time together. Please pray that they will return to their schools, colleges and churches ready to serve Jesus.
Please pray for a joint event with Tonbridge youth this weekend at Carroty Wood. Pray for fun, safety, good attendance and mixing between different church groups. Several young people will be speaking about their time at Christian camps and festivals this summer – please pray for them.
We give thanks for two new team members.
Dave is our discipleship worker – he will support churches as they disciple young people; focus on inter-church discipleship events such as Unite and town-wide bands. He is also the youth worker at Tunbridge Wells Christian Fellowship. Pray for him as he adjusts to his new roles and builds relationships with other youth workers.
Emma is a student from Swindon who is on a Year Out with Youth for Christ. She will be getting involved in projects across the town including Sundays at St Matts, Friday nights at TWCF, lunch clubs at St Gregory’s with CrossTeach, and Exhilarate kid’s club with Church of Christ.
As many of you will know from local news, there are ongoing difficulties at West Kent College (owned by The Hadlow Group) where Berti works as part of the chaplaincy team. The staff and students are confused as to what the future holds and the sense of uncertainty is tangible across the college. Please pray for Berti and Nick (the Chaplain) as they try to support the staff and students during this difficult time.
Give thanks for the Family Fun Day at Showfields on Saturday 7th September – Berti ran activities for children and young people. It was really well attended and Berti was able to make connections with lots of families.

There will be incredible live music from local musicians Will Scott (classically trained guitarist and winner of 2014 Kent Musician of the Year) and Jenny Maslin (outstanding and much loved jazz singer) as well as complimentary wine and cheese. Please contact us for tickets or if you cannot come we would be most grateful for donations.
You might be surprised to know that Tunbridge Wells Youth for Christ is running at a loss of about £1,000 a month, which is obviously not sustainable and we are concerned about the future. Although we have a number of generous supporters, both individual donors and local churches that is not enough to cover our costs.
Would you consider giving to Tunbridge Wells Youth for Christ on a regular basis if you do not already financially support us? 20 people giving £50, 40 people giving £25 or 50 people giving £20 a month would plug the gap and enable us to continue with all the different youth initiatives that we are involved in.
