What is it all about?

Sometimes actions speak louder than words which is why each year, young people from across the town come together for The Noise. During the Easter holiday, young people give up their time to serve a Tunbridge Wells community and show God’s love through practical projects such as litter picking, gardening and running children’s clubs, as well as learning more about God’s heart for mission, both locally and further afield.

The Noise 2026 – St James’ Church, 15th – 17th April 2026

We had such fun at St James’ Church with 30+ young people from 7 different churches gathering each day to show God’s love in action to the local community.

After spending time each morning reflecting on a bible passage the young people gathering into teams to head out into the (mostly) sunshine. Projects included: clearing an allotment, weeding in the Community Orchard at Hilbert Park, planting the new planters in the town centre, leading games in the church yard for the public to enjoy, helping at Fir Trees and CAMEO, as well as the usual litter picking and street edge weeding. They also prepared craft, a drama, set up a prayer space and baked and iced cakes, which were all part of the family fun day that the young people led on Friday.

Each day also had plenty of down time with parachute games, an Easter escape room challenge and the, now famous, Duck’s Day Out scavenger hunt. The final part of the day saw all the groups gather together for worship and teaching.

A huge thank you to all those at St James’ who helped host us, musicians around the town who led worship, youth ministers and volunteers who brought their young people to take part (and stayed to help as well!!) and the organisations we partnered with; Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Friends of Hilbert and Grosvenor Park, Fir Trees Nursing Home and Tunbridge Wells Baptist Church CAMEO.
