As we approach the summer holidays we give thanks for all that we have been able to do over this past year, for the good news being shared and for those who have committed or recommitted their lives to Jesus.
Give thanks for the RE lesson at St Gregs where Berti shared his testimony and talked about how Jesus had transformed his life. The young people responded positively. Berti was able to give out a couple of the Youth for Christ bibles and some students said how much he had encouraged them in their faith and inspired them to dig into Scripture more.
Give thanks for the chaplaincy work which Berti does at West Kent College and the drop-in cafe at The Gatehouse. Attendance here ranges from 15- 30 each week and the team have built up excellent relationships with the young people.
Please pray for the year 6s who Berti has been working with at Temple Grove. Pray that we would be able to keep in touch and continue to support them.
Please pray for the group of young people and youth leaders who are going to Soul Survivor on 17th August. At the moment we have 32 young people (with possibly 4 more) and 13 adults going to this Christian festival. Pray for safety in travelling and on the site. Pray that young and old would meet with God and have their lives transformed by him.
There are still lots of organisational tasks to be done. Pray for Anne, Tony and Polly as they plan the transportation of equipment and cook on site and for Berti as he oversees the young people and supports the youth workers.
Give thanks for Clare as she supervises all our Connect Mentors in our joint mentoring project with Life and Soul. We are pleased that St Gregs are very happy with the trial project in their school and so it will continue next term.
Please pray for interviews taking place on 18th July for a joint youth worker with Tunbridge Wells Christian Fellowship. Please pray that we would find the right person and that we would be able to raise extra funding for the post.
We rejoice with our friends across the town who have successfully recruited children’ and youth workers. Please pray for the churches who are still looking to recruit and look forward to working with the new team in September.
