Please give thanks for all the work of Tunbridge Wells Youth for Christ.

Every month we spotlight a different area of our work or team member on our website.

Please take time to read what Berti does in Sherwood and pray for Lydia as she balances home life with working part time.

Please pray for the Easter event on Bank Holiday Monday in Showfields. Berti is working closely with the social committee at Number One to support the event. He is going to run an empty tomb treasure hunt to share the real meaning of Easter with the community.

Berti and Lydia are meeting with Sheila Perkins from St Stephen’s Church to discuss possible opportunities for evangelism at Easter at West Kent College. Give thanks for the excellent relationships Berti has built up with many students at West Kent College.

The drop in café at The Gatehouse continues to see a steady increase in numbers with attendance ranging from 15-30 each week. Berti, Lesley and the team are building relationships with these young people with a view to inviting them to The Noise at Easter and then Soul Survivor.

Please pray for our planning for The Noise which will take place in the town centre from 10th – 12th April. We will be based at The Gatehouse but linking up with other town centre churches to serve the local community.
We are particularly excited about our meeting with town centre councillors who are very positive about The Noise. Projects so far include litter picking on the common, panna cage football outreach, working with Tunbridge Wells in Bloom to plant flowers in the town centre and much more.
Forms have gone out to youth groups – please pray that young people would come and join in with the projects, that we would have enough adult helpers and that the young people would have a chance to grow in faith through teaching, worship and practical acts of service.

Connect continues to thrive with 5 new mentors starting in the next term. Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar School and St Gregory’s have expressed serious interest in having Connect Mentoring, following recommendations from Skinner’s Kent Academy. Give thanks for the work that Mary from Life and Soul and Clare from Tunbridge Wells Youth for Christ are doing to progress this and support our existing mentors.

Thank you so much for being a prayer supporter. If you are able to also support us financially that would also make a huge difference! At the moment we are running about £1,000 short every month.

Standing orders make it easy for you, and also for us as we can better predict our monthly income. You can set one up here. Every little helps and it does make a difference. Thank you.
