Thank you for your prayers and support for Unite in The Wild in October.
Over 60 young people and their youth leaders spent a wonderful day at St Albans, Frant.  The setting was perfect – the tepee for worship, teaching and craft, the woods for exploring, den and fire making, archery both outdoors and then indoors when it got windy, games in the grounds and exploring locally using compasses and maps.  We finished with barbecue and campfire and the feedback was very positive.

The young people would like a gaming event next.  We are hoping National Youth for Christ will be able to support us for an event in February.

We are delighted to see many young people coming to The Youth Centre.

The young people decorated the Youth Centre windows for Streets of Light and Remembrance
Thanks  also go to the YMCA Horizon Project for the great new benches and planters outside The Youth Centre. Bought in memory of Chris Allen, they provide a lovely place for the young people to gather and chat and eat toast when we have good weather. They have also been used by people waiting for the bus!

We are seeking a supporter from each of  the different churches to act as an ambassador for us please. You would be asked to link with whoever does the notices when we have things to advertise, remind people to pray for us and our events and be a link for one of us to come and talk at the church. If you are keen you could talk about our work too  – Karen would be able to give some notes.

We already have advocates at Christ Church, Tunbridge Wells, New Life, St James, St Lawrence’s Bidborough and St Mary’s Speldhurst.

If you attend another church and would be happy to represent us please get in touch.

Prayer Points

  • Give thanks for answered prayer for more volunteers in The Youth Centre
  • Pray for building up of relationships with all the young people who come to The Youth Centre – some are proving hard to really get to know
  • We have been invited to lead a discipleship session for year 7 at St Greg’s next week. Our theme is ‘I am known by God, I am loved by God’.  Please pray that the young people find these sessions worthwhile and that year 7s are encouraged to come into the Youth Centre and find out more.
  • Pray for Berti’s chaplaincy work in local schools
  • Pray for Emma in her final year at University at St Mellitus – seeking God’s will for the next stage.
